FORT WAYNE – The Motor City Cruise were looking to end their Fort Wayne trip with a win. Despite not having his two-ways for tonight’s game, Head Coach DJ Bakker’s squad dominated to take the victory over the Mad Ants with a score of 132-130. The Cruise are now 7-3 in their last ten games. With Motor City’s first 30-point win of the season, the Cruise are now only one game behind the lowest playoff seed, currently held by the Windy City Bulls.

The Cruise dominated the Mad Ants early in the game. Along with a 12-3 run in the first quarter, Keifer Sykes scored 13 points to give Motor City a 20-point lead (39-19). The Cruise continued their dominance in the second quarter of action, as they ended the first half with a 32-point lead (76-46). Keifer Sykes finished with 26 points in the first half alone. He shot 8-13 from the floor (3-8 beyond the arc) after two quarters of play. ShawnDre Jones and David Nwaba followed up with 12. The Cruise shot 57.1% in the first half and held down the Mad Ants to 35.4%. In the rebound column, Motor City outrebounded Fort Wayne 23-15 in the first half alone.

At the end of the third, Motor City continued to cruise over Fort Wayne as they led 102-66. Keifer Sykes had 34 points after three quarters of tonight’s game. Tevin Brown scored 11 points in the fourth quarter, despite Fort Wayne trailing by 40 in the fourth quarter (Motor City’s biggest lead of the game).

Keifer Sykes finished with a career high night, scoring 34 points. Sykes shot 11-19 from the floor (3-8 beyond the arc). ShawnDre Jones followed up with 22 points. He also tallied nine assists in tonight’s win. David Nwaba finished tonight with a double-double in his second straight game. He scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Lastly, Kyler Edwards shot 3-8 from beyond the arc to become the first Motor City Cruise player in history to drop 50 three-point shots in a G League regular season.

For Fort Wayne, Justin Anderson scored 26 points after shooting 8-19 from the floor. Jermaine Samuels Jr. secured a double-double to follow up. Samuels scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Lastly, Game York followed up with 13 points for the Mad Ants.

The Motor City Cruise improved to 14-14 and Fort Wayne Mad Ants fell to 13-14. The Cruise have now finished their final road game of the regular season and will start their final homestand on Wednesday, March 15. The Cruise are set to take on the Cleveland Charge at Wayne State Field House. Tip-off is slated for 11:00am EST.
