Pistons G League Affiliate Set to Play Home Opener at Wayne State Fieldhouse on November 14

 DETROIT – The NBA G League and the Motor City Cruise announced their 2023-24 G League showcase and regular season schedule.  The Cruise will open the season on the road against the Grand Rapids Gold on Sunday, November 12 at 3:00 p.m.  Motor City will play its home opener at Wayne State Fieldhouse on Tuesday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m. versus the Iowa Wolves.

 The Motor City Cruise are entering their third season, competing at Wayne State Fieldhouse. Season ticket packages, starting as low as $192 ($8 per game), are available at www.cruisebasketball.com.  Single-game and group tickets will go on-sale Friday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. on cruisebasketball.com and www.ticketmaster.com.

The NBA G League will begin the 2023-24 campaign with each team taking part in the Showcase Cup, making up the first 14 games of the season, starting on November 10.  The Showcase Cup, which debuted two seasons ago, creates a new level of excitement for fans during the early part of the season as well as an incentive for players to earn a spot in the Showcase Cup Championship.

Teams will be separated into four regional pods during the Showcase Cup, divided by teams in their respective G League Markets. The teams with the best winning percentage in each regional pod, as well as the four teams with the next best win-percentage across the league, will advance to a single-elimination tournament at the NBA G League Winter Showcase between December 19-22 and compete for the Showcase Cup.

Following the G League Winter Showcase, team records will reset for a traditional 34-game regular season, beginning December 27. During the regular season, teams will be split into Eastern and Western Conferences, and the 2023-24 playoffs will solely be based on the regular season records from the respective 34 game season. The top six teams in each conference will qualify for the NBA G League Playoffs, followed by the NBA G League Finals in April 2024.

Along with several theme nights that will be hosted throughout the season, The Cruise will host two Education Days for local schools around the area, slated for Tuesday, December 12, and Wednesday, January 17. Tip-off is set for 11:00am for both games.
